Title: REAL ID

So, I go to the DMV office yesterday to get my license renewed.  The lady at the desk says, "Did you bring your birth certificate?".  I momentarily panicked and thought that I wouldn't get my new license after waiting for two hours.  She the said, "That's a shame, I can't give you a real id.". 

I left with my "regular" license and came home exhausted for standing two hours.  It hit me soon after when I thought about what happened.  The USA is experiencing record numbers of undocumented (illegal) people streaming across the Rio Grande everyday.  I being born in NC, a lifetime of paying taxes, and being well documented, I get this shit.

To get a real id they want a birth certificate and a license, W2, etc.  Really?  WTF?  The DMV in NC has me on file since 1972.  Damn.

edit: I asked if I could somehow get the REAL ID online through the DMV website... "NO".

I did last year, during the peak of Covid War.  I guess they changed it now.  Do you know what the upside of this is?  The Covid War is over!!!  :D
