« Last post by tooppy on May 11, 2023, 03:30:32 PM »
Hi all,

This is a very long time I didn't peep around ! I am pleased to see that most names are still around.
I have a question for you all experts. What would you prefer as amp for a 92/97db 8ohm speakers, some single full range and some two ways , Transcendent OTL New mini beast or Decware SET UFO ?
In others words what are the advantages/disavantages of each ?

Yep, he's officially older.  I'm on his heels as well.  Happy birthday Ed.  I think his b-day was on May 5th and he's still vertical.  Well done for a motorcycle riding hillbilly.  And that's the Truth.  ;D

Never heard of it before. Is that a pro Russia site?
Even if you've never heard of it, you have basically seen it via contemporary American mainstream media because they are modeled after it and yes, it's Russian.  https://www.britannica.com/topic/Pravda

I'll keep watching my mainly European news from several different countries.
That's understandable.  By the way, you aren't including Pravda News, are you?

Congrats!  Room interaction with speakers brings the biggest effects on sound reproduction.

Well I finally got sick of Florida. Close to 500,000 people moved there this past year. More people competing for the same products have drawn up consumer prices. I used to live in central Florida where there was some southern charm still present but alas, no more. Alot of these people have a totally different mind set than what I was accustomed to, plus they also brought their dopey politics with them. I moved to Northwestern Arkansas and love it. Well back to the topic: my new room is smaller than my old one but has 20 foot ceilings. I also now have 4 corners where before I only had 3. What a difference having my Horns on 2 corners, bass response and imaging have improved tremendously. The cubes supply much less output. The speakers sound totally different. They are about 23 inches (back wall to Front of the speakers) and they really sound sweet in my room. This highlights or rather reminds me of the importance of speaker positioning. I will not miss Florida, it has become a really expensive place to live in. Besides AR. ia a much redder state than FL.

On advice from ED: he told me to buy wooden cutting boards at your local food market about 12' by 12'. This kept my cats from from tipping over the speakers if they launch themselves from the speakers. They no longer do this after I scolded them repeatedly about this. Nevertheless, the 12 by 12 cutting boards add stability. They also look pretty good.
